Sunlight is abundant and it is everywhere. More and more emphasis on the use of this abundant energy source has led to the maximum development in this field. The solar energy can be utilized through various means form building concentrating solar power systems, photovoltaic, solar heating systems , solar cars, solar batteries, solar satellite systems , solar updraft power houses and solar lighting systems.

Depending upon your needs and where you live, there are a variety of solar power systems that could work for you.

In Pakistan most of consumers have installed Hybrid Solar system with Batteries so that they may cover load shedding, Unfortunately due to some reasons these consumers are unable to fully utilized solar energy system and unable to reduce utility bills, they can only reduce bills from 15% – 25%, Now these consumers want to shift those solar hybrid systems to on-grid systems with Net-Metering so that each watt of energy can be utilized, and maximum benefit can be availed from Solar Energy. On grid customers are more satisfied comparing Hybrid.

Unsatisfied customers with Hybrid solar system, soon shift to on-grid with Net-Metering

The most important part of this discussion is, If Govt of Pakistan becomes successful to manage load-shedding, than soon, Sale of Hybrid systems / Inverters / Batteries will be reduced and people will prefer to install or switch to On-Grid system with Net-Metering.

It is also observed that Solar companies not literate consumer about the usage of system, after installing Solar Hybrid system, Consumer think now he has his own grid, he can use electricity regardless of timing, It is unfair, we must give awareness to consumer about the usage of solar energy, If we use it when the SUN is available it is free, But If we will use it in the evening or night, same will be chargeable by utility. However in case of Net-Metering consumer has the advantage and can get same units/energy back after evening, which he supplied to utility excessively in the day time.

Here is comparison of all three systems ; Hybrid with Net-Metering, Hybrid & On-Grid with Net-Metering;

This analysis is based on consumer feedback in last 5 years.
